This is part of the series of blog posts on a fourteen day road trip from St. Horses roaming freely with the campers at Assateague. Only the dunes separate you from the ocean. This is what camping is all about and it is a rare experience to be able to be this close to the ocean when camping. Camp Store location at Assateague.Īt night it is quiet and peaceful and the stars are beautiful. There is also a nature center for kids and of course the seashore. The campground has a great cafe and camp store with picnic tables right on the water. The camp store also has a cafe with picnic tables right on the water (well, with dunes between you and the water).īut if that timing isn’t right, you really owe it to yourself to book a few nights at Assateague Island – either through the state park or national park. We didn’t stop in Chincoteague on the way up and many people have said it is a great experience seeing the horses go between the islands so that might be a great time to include both. The beach is the other main attraction to camping at Assateauge and it is fantastic and right over the dunes from your campsite. These beautiful animals will bed down for the night near your campsite if they want to and they will wander through your site also. The thrill of seeing wild ponies and horses walking through your campsite is incredible. Horses were common to see just about any time. And the campground staff in the office couldn’t have been any nicer or more accommodating. We like our air conditioning too much! On the non-electric sites you can’t run your generator past 10PM. We spend the first night with no electricity or running water – good thing we were in a self-contained motorhome but they managed to get us a site with electric the next night. This one went directly through our camp site. As night falls, the horses will still be active. We didn’t realize this and when we checked in were told the rules of running a generator. However, be warned that not all sites have electric – even for RVs. of Natural Resources and it was very easy. We managed to find two nights in a row a few months before arriving in summer and booked online at the Maryland Dept. Camping with wild horses and ponies means you can’t leave a lot sitting around your campsite that they can get into. You do need to book up well in advance and keep looking even if you don’t find anything. We were very excited to be able to camp here. We managed to find two nights in a row at the state park so that’s what we booked. The Assateague National Seashore offers camping as does the Maryland State Park Service. So we set off trying to find out where can you camp with the horses along the beach. We knew we wanted to go camping along the national seashore and be able to see wild horses and ponies.

Before leaving I had called our insurance man who told me I didn't need additional insurance, so I told him no. Then he asked me if I wanted the additional insurance. While on our trip, I saw most stations had gas for $3.79-3.89 a gallon. So I agreed again to get him off my back. Then he told me gas in Vegas is $4.50 a gallon, their fee is only $3.50 a gallon so basically I was stupid not to get it. Then he told me to get the prepaid gas option. So I was forced to pay to "upgrade" to a 4 door car when that was what I paid. How is a 4 door and a 2 door in the same category? My reservation was for a 4 door 5 passenger car. My son is 6'6, he would not fit into that, so I was forced to upgrade. The gentleman told me we were getting a smart car. My confirmation email says Hyundai Accent or similar. When I got to the counter, the man helping me was ruthless, a jerk and literally forced me into upgrades. I WAS RIPPED OFF!!! it was almost an hour wait to get our rental car. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. That was more than our flights!!!! RIPPED OFF!!!! THAT IS RIDICULOUS! In the end I was charged $297 OVER my original agreed upon booking (which was already $550), for a total of $850 for a 5 day rental. It was an awful experience, I felt used and completely ripped off. I honestly felt threatened into buying the additional insurance that I didn't need. The man ONCE AGAIN started belittling me, telling me I was crazy not to get it and that if I got into an accident, even if it wasn't my fault, and the care was not drivable, I would be charged $300 a day while the car was in the shop and would be out thousands of dollars. We didn't mention the 1500 unaccepted charge on our credit card but when we did at the survey the car company sent us by e mail few days later, they never replied nor said a word about it. When we got back to BUDGET RENT A CAR LAS VEGAS to return the car the lady was surprisingly kind and did the paper work in 30 seconds without any problem. Four or five days on the rental we received a message from our bank telling us about a 1500 US dollars charge from a mexican airline company which we had not done and we had to spend one afternoon calling to our bank in Mexico (citibank) to refuse that charge which it took like two weeks to solve. When she asked us for our credit card she took it and typed down the credit card number and the safety numbers in the back in her computer which we were surprised to see. So we read to her the paragraph where it said it covered the LDW. The lady at the counter, who spoke our language (spanish) questioned about our credit card LDW coverage and ask us for proof about that which we had printed out beforehand but when handled it she said it was not written it in there. We had made a reservation on the internet well in advance and had got a very good bargain for a week-car rental and we only wanted to purchase the liability insurance because our credit card explicitily covered de LDW. Which version you should buy depends on your budget, and what you want to achieve, and what tools you'll need for that purpose. There are a few different versions of Cubase. These are what we would call practical courses, although you will learn all the theory necessary as you progress through the course. This gives you a much deeper level of understanding than learning one feature at a time. You actually follow along and make a track, which is incredibly rewarding, but you also learn Cubase and its features as you progress. Why ? They are custom made to help you learn Cubase and music production. Custom made Cubase tutorials: There is no doubt that these hold the best money/reward ratio of all three options (yes even better than the free options). However, you can get quicker results, which are more fun and rewarding from specifically made Cubase tutorials. If you have the money, the spare time, and find it hard to self-motivate then this is a good option. Full (in person) courses: These are expensive, and take place over months, even years and are more akin to college degrees. Free videos: Very helpful if you want to know how a specific feature in Cubase works, but if you want to understand how Cubase works in real world situations, and for actual music production purposes, the free videos can be somewhat lacking. These days there are many different training methods, from free videos put out by Steinberg, to full paid for courses which take place over months. There is no question about it people who use training courses pick up the software much quicker than those who are self taught. Proper guidance and training can shave years off your learning curve It is not a problem if not, as Cubase comes with some excellent features that will help you come up with chord progressions and melodies that don't require any prior music theory knowledge.Ĥ. Do you have any experience with music, such as playing an instrument ?Īlthough this won't particulally help with the software side of things, it will help you understand some of the features within Cubase, such as the notes, creating chords and melodies, understanding rhythm, bars and measures etc. If the answer is 'no', then you will be fine if you have some guidance, but it can be difficult if you are going down the 'self-taught' route.ģ. If the answer is yes, then you will already know the functions of Cubase, it will simply be a case of adjusting to a slightly different workflow. Have you used any other DAW software before ? Though it is absolutely true that anyone who has the passion for music can learn it.Ģ. People who are familiar with other types of software generally learn a little faster than those who are completely new to it. If you are familiar with using various apps/software, then learning will be quicker, as you will understand the basic functions that common across all software. There is also great training available for Cubase and all other top DAW's which will help you from getting stuck at the very beginning. The answer to this can be evidenced by the number of PRO level producers who use it, and by how many PRO studios use Cubase as their DAW of choice. The primary question should be 'once I have learned Cubase, is it capable of producing the music I want to make with a streamlined and quick work flow?'. However, 'is Cubase easy to learn?' should be the secondary question. Cubase is as easy or difficult to learn as any other professional level Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). If CORS and the proxy server don’t work for you, JSONP may help. 3rd choice: JSONP (requires server support) Instead of sending API requests to some remote server, you’ll make requests to your proxy, which will forward them to the remote server. And this proxy can return the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header if it’s not at the Same Origin as your page. To fix the problem, update your code to use the new URL as reported by the redirect, thereby avoiding the redirect. If you can’t modify the server, you can run your own proxy. Modify the server to add the header Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * to enable cross-origin requests from anywhere (or specify a domain instead of *). if you’re using an external API), this approach won’t work. Here are a few ways to solve this problem: Best: CORS header (requires server changes)ĬORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) is a way for the server to say “I will accept your request, even though you came from a different origin.” This requires cooperation from the server – so if you can’t modify the server (e.g. It afflicts all web apps equally, and most of the fixes we’ll look at below are actually modifying the server or the browser. While very predictable at times, the characters are generally enjoyable, and they have more depth than may be apparent in the first few episodes. The animation is relentlessly pretty and utilizes a soft art style that is simply pleasant on the eyes. Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence is very much a Doga Kobo anime, which is certainly not a bad thing. As they lead their uneventful but unique lives, they get to interact with the townsfolk, take day trips to bigger cities, and meet other clergy representatives. Good-natured but reasonably strict, the latter takes his guardian responsibilities very seriously meanwhile, the slightly naive Cecilia has a massive crush on the oblivious pastor. Naturally, she might need some help, which arrives in the form of Pastor Lawrence. Set in a fantasy world where Lady Saints are a thing, Cecilia becomes the idol of a small town. Conversely, the cat's love for its owner is completely believable, as is its tendency to get frustrated by Saku. Her disorganized nature is primarily a reflection of her poor work/life balance, and it never comes across like she is taking advantage of Yukichi's kindness. While Yukichi steals the show, Saku is really likable and charming. Most episodes revolve around the pair's everyday lives, which would be quite ordinary if one of the protagonists was not a cat. Peculiar as the premise might seem on the surface, GoHands' anime is otherwise a fairly straightforward slice of life. RELATED: Summer 2023 Anime Lineup: Where To Watch Every Series This unorthodox partnership serves as the heart of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today, and Saku and Yukichi have an adorable, funny, and wholesome dynamic. Consequently, Yukichi, her cat, accepts the responsibility of preventing the apartment from falling into disrepair. Saku Fukuzawa works long days at the office, and when she arrives home, she has no energy to do anything but eat, drink beer, and go to sleep. The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Todayįueled by gratitude, an adopted cat wills itself to become human-sized so it can take care of its messy caretaker. Although romance is still part of the equation, it has largely taken a backseat to banter and shenanigans, a decision that has worked out surprisingly well. Most of the episodes tell self-contained stories that are almost sketches, and the anime is happy to just provide fans with another opportunity to spend more time with Kyouko, Izumi, and friends. Unlike Horimiya, The Missing Pieces is a full-blown slice of life anime that leans heavily into comedy. Consequently, this entry could be regarded as fluff, and it is certainly not compulsory viewing since its predecessor already tells a satisfying and complete narrative. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces is somewhat of a special case since it is a side piece to the original show that adapts previously untouched stories from the manga. Summer 2023 is not lacking in follow-ups, with Jujutsu Kaisen, Mushoku Tensei, and Bleach all receiving highly-anticipated sequels that have, for the most part, lived up to the hype. Still, none of these series necessarily scream "slice of life," or at least not as loudly as some other shows. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout The Animation is also a relaxing sit, although it is not quite as slow-paced as the games. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses and My Tiny Senpai are safe picks, although they are primarily romantic comedies. Similar to its predecessor, the Summer 2023 anime season is somewhat lacking in obvious slice of life shows. Meanwhile, Tonikawa and Otaku Elf should have satisfied most people's cravings for fluffy, wholesome vibes. Skip and Loafer proved to be more of a drama than a pure slice of life, but it is still an easy recommendation for fans of the latter. Spring 2023 is done, and the season had a couple of noteworthy slice of life shows. RELATED: Best Anime That Defy Their Usual Genre Tropes Best Summer 2023 Slice Of Life Anime Still, fans and critics alike agree that certain shows are the cream of the crop and are more likely than most to be enjoyed by those who give them a try. The slice of life genre can contain hilarious comedic moments, serious drama, and even a bit of romance - it all depends on what viewers are looking for. Still, even the most action-oriented anime viewer can enjoy a simple story about the day-to-day lives of its characters. With shows known far and wide like Dragon Ball or One Piece, it's hard to deny the popularity of anime. So what are you waiting for?
